On Valentine’s Day, instead of having romantic dinners, a lot of us went to the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter in Sacramento to share God’s love for the people there. The guys had their own program and so did the girls. Each program consisted of games, singing, ice cream sandwiches, mingling, and a gospel presentation! The people were very encouraged and touched by our love and care for them. It was a message of an unconditional love from God that transcends beyond the romantic love that most of us are more familiar with especially on Valentine’s Day. Not only were the people there blessed, but those of us who volunteered to be a part of this were also blessed to be able to experience the love of God.

Hey guys! On the 10th, we had our first brothers bible study! The brothers had their bible study at Ming’s place while the sisters had theirs at Koso 1 house. For the brothers, we had delicious pasta for dinner, an interactive bible study on Mark 1, and awesome hot links over the fire! It was a nice cozy group for us, and we got to know each other much better.
The bible study was about the question, “Do you know what your life purpose is?” It was a question that got many of us thinking. We discussed about how we only have one life to live and the things that most people chase after are money, family, romance, popularity, pursuit of knowledge, academic success, and the list just goes on. Although these are good things in them of themselves, we came to the realization that these things are only temporary. So then, we were posed with the question, “What is the best thing?” The best thing is something that lasts forever. Overall, the bible study left us with important questions about life, and we were all challenged.

Last Tuesday night, we had our last dinner with Xin and May who were a huge part of our IGSM ministry. We had wonderful clam bake and pasta for dinner and then we had a dessert potluck afterwards! It was a memorable night of sharing as well. Many of us shared how much of an impact Xin and May had on each of our lives, remembering all their love and sacrifice. Although we will miss their presence, we are all the more joyful and encouraged that they will be able to serve in our Gracepoint Hsinchu Church in Taiwan. We are encouraged and hopeful that they will have a great impact on the lives of the Taiwanese students over there!
