This Friday is our last Bible study of the Winter quarter. For those who are having final exams this week, hang in there! Instead of meeting at 3001 PES, we will meet at Ming and Linda’s place all together. We will start with a dinner together as usual. Then we will learn about who Jesus is from the Gospel of John. Also through this Bible study, we will learn from Jesus what it means to love others. This Bible study will be an especially meaningful one as we are entering into Passion Week and Good Friday next week. These are the most important days in the Christian calendar. And of course, we will end with a good time of fellowship together. So please join us this Friday!
Where: Ming/Linda’s place
Time: 7 PM, starting with a simply dinner
Pick up Time/Spot for Rides: 6:30 PM at Silo Parking Lot
Hi IGSMers. This Friday, we are headed back to the homes for our Bible studies! We will start by sharing a meal together, learn about Jesus as we continue our “Who is this Jesus” message series in the Gospel of John, and wrap up the evening with some fun, chill, and “homey” time (or “not-so-homey” but “still really fun time” should we decide to explore somewhere outside of Davis after the Bible study)!
You should have been contacted by the respective HG1 and HG2 staff already. If you haven’t been contacted by one of the HG leads and want to join us, please contact us ASAP at: email@example.com, or call us at: 530-746-8483.
By the way, here are some pics of what we did last time we met at home on 2/1
I hope to see you all on Friday!
This Valentine’s Day, we will visit a nursing home and homeless shelter to share God’s love with them.Join us! We will leave Davis at 6 pm.
Please sign up here!
Hello IGSMers! This Friday, we are trying something completely new for our Bible study! Instead of meeting on campus for Bible study at 3001 PES as a large group, we will split into two smaller groups and each group will meet at a home. Not surprisingly, we will call these two groups “Home Group 1″ and “Home Group 2″, or HG1 and HG2 to make them sound a little cooler
For each HG, we will share a meal together, learn about Jesus as we continue our “Who is this Jesus” message series in the Gospel of John, and some fun, chill, and “homey” time! You should have been contacted by the respective HG staff already. If you haven’t been contacted by one of the HG leads and want to join us, please contact us ASAP at: firstname.lastname@example.org, or call us at: 530-746-8483.
Hello IGSMers! This past Saturday, we went to Marin County near SF for a beautiful hike! Boy, I have to say that it was a gorgeous day, with a clear blue sky and the strong waves of the vast Pacific Ocean seemed to wash away all of our stress from graduate school and life. I can’t wait to go out there again! After the hike, we went to SF for a yummy lunch (Korean Chinese style!), stopped by a Chinese bakery and then headed to the Palace of Fine Arts. As you can see, Ming had a lot of fun with the panoramic feature on his smart phone and took a pretty unusual picture below (see if you can figure out why it’s unusual and how he did it). Hope you can join us next time!
Here some more pictures we took there. Enjoy!
Happy New Year! This past Friday we had our first Bible study of the year and many new friends joined us. Ming gave us a thought-provoking Bible study from the Gospel of John, Chapter 1, with the following important question in mind, “Who is this Jesus?” This Bible study set the stage for the entire winter quarter as we will continue to study the Gospel of John and see how it answers, ‘Who is this Jesus?”.
Afterward, we had a really fun time playing “Best of the Best”, which actually turned out to be rather intense (look at some of serious faces below) as well. Check out some of the pictures below.
Each of these students represent the ”quickest hands” from their team (and also probably the most serious-faced as well…)
This round is for those who represent the “best teamwork” for their team. The goal here is to drop a toothbrush into a cup using just two pieces of floss. Trust me. Without good teamwork and team chemistry, this is really hard to do.
We had quite a laugh here as these lucky students were determined to have the “best smile”. They are using their well-developed facial muscle from all of their smiles to detach post-its on their faces. I don’t think they were smiling during that time though
Please join our weekly Bible reading club! As we study the Gospel of John during our Friday Bible studies, we will also be reading through the entire Gospel of John together during this time. There will also be a short Q&A session at the end of each session. Hope to see you there!
When: Every Tuesday 7-8pm

Come join us for one of IGSM’s biggest events of the year: the 2013 IGSM Winter Retreat! It will be from Friday night 1/25 to Sunday 1/27. On Friday, we will meet on campus at 3001 PES at 7 pm, the usual time and location. We will start with dinner together and then we will be U-streaming a message given by Pastor Jonathan who is part of our Gracepoint Berkeley Church. This will be the first message and first day of our IGSM Winter Retreat! After some discussion time, we will head to the retreat site Mt. Hermon near Santa Cruz.
This is a time where we can take a break from all the day-to-day activities in order to learn more about Christianity, the Bible, and God, in a deep and personally meaningful way. Whether you’ve been a Christian for many years, or are simply trying to find out more about Christianity, this event should address many of your questions and concerns. You will get to have extensive discussions with many other people about the common Christian issues, and hopefully come to a deeper understanding about Christianity. This is also a chance for you to enjoy some fun and exciting activities such as games, an outdoor hike, a campfire, and also delicious food.
The cost of the retreat is now $60.
