Recap: 2011 Gracepoint Davis Thanksgiving Celebration

This past Sunday we had over 350 people joined us for our annual Thanksgiving Celebration! Many of our friends came to join us over a delicious Turkey feast and amazing skits! We started off our service with an amazing message given by Pastor Will about the 10 lepers who got healed by Jesus and how only one came back to thank him. It was a message that both reminded and challenged us to be thankful for the things we have, starting with life and God’s gift of Salvation.

Afterwards, we had a time of getting to know one another by playing a game that involved sharing our personalities and interests. It was a lot of fun! Shortly after, we had our Thanksgiving feast, which included turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, ham, cranberry sauce, a tasty salad, and Chinese noodles! Yummy!

Finally, we had a fun time watching the various performances prepared by each of the ministries in our church, starting with our Joyland children. They are so cute! The Freshmen class then presented their skit followed by the Sophomore/Junior skit which was based upon Harry Potter and the “Go-Spell” . IGSM then took the stage by performing, “Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat which Got Him in Big Trouble (And How it all Turned Out Good in the End)”, which was based on the Biblical story of Joseph found in Genesis 37. Everyone had a good laugh and enjoyed our skit a lot! Lastly, Acts2Fellowship (A2F) closed the night with their amazing stomp and rap performance.

Thanksgiving Celebration is a huge event that we have once every year, where we can gather together and celebrate our gratitude to God. We hope you can come join us next year!

And here are some pictures we took of our IGSM skit!
